Blog. It’s a buzz word for the 2000s, everyone is talking about them, gossip queen blogs, financial blogs, life blogs – they’re all out there.
The word Blog comes from two words “web log” and is a sort of ‘online diary’ of thoughts, events, pictures, general rantings or videos.
Blogs can vary greatly in content, with some being focused on a particular subject or niche, and others being a more broad scope or even personal diary.
Lately there has been a craze about earning money through blogging. This can be done in a number of ways. If you already have a successful blog, or are thinking about starting one up, you can introduce third part advertising as a way to earn income. This is regularly done through Google AdSense, Yahoo Overture, or equivalent systems.
Another option is to directly market a product. This is done by sourcing a product through a marketplace such as Commission Junction or Clickbank, and creating an affiliate link. When someone clicks from your blog and purchases a product, you are paid a commission. You can also become a product affiliate directly from many businesses’ websites.
These money making tactics are the two most basic and easy to apply, but in order to make money you need to drive traffic to your website by generating backlinks and creating interest through news services and social bookmarks.
Once your blog is up and running and you regularly add new post and news, you will find that your visitors and revenue slowly increase to make a regular worthwhile passive income.
